7 Must Take Blogger Oaths!

Get ready to nod! 😉

We’ve all done em at some point and still fall prey at times, but I believe it’s good to be aware of them at least.

NO 1: I’m not going to write “Flatulence” instead of “Fart”

And that means you’re not going to force yourself to write using complicated words just to sound cooler.

Yes, you’ve to sound professional and all that, but you also don’t want to sound like the kid who puts his hand up for every flipping question back in your 7th grade do you?

NO 2: I will not force myself to write a 2000+ words post on a topic that merely requires 600 words.

Doesn’t matter how much of a mastermind writer you are, you don’t want to write a long ass post just to fool people into thinking you’re an expert on that topic.

Longer posts are awesome and certainly beneficial for Google rankings, but, it’s all about user experience in the end.

NO 3:  I will not misuse “being inspired” as an excuse to copy other bloggers.

It can be tempting, especially when you’re just starting out. You might not intentionally copy others, but you end up doing it.

People go on and on and on about building a brand. But your brand is YOU and what makes you be the Nemo in the sea full of lookalike fishes.

Learn from other bloggers but don’t try to copy every single thing they do. i.e. exact theme, exact about me style, exact writing style, exact photo style and so on.

NO 4: I will not waste 24/7 reading other people’s income reports.

I’ve done it. Still do it sometimes because it’s so err difficult to scroll down.

It can be motivating but if that’s all you do, it’s going to depress the hell out of you and eventually make you quit.

NO 5: I will not keep Google Analytics opened on another tab 24/7.

This one is probably the hardest one. But do you realize how much time you’re wasting on it?

Worrying about the views going up and down instead of doing the work?

NO 6: I will not write 400+ words comment on someone’s blog just to sound genuine.

Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Keep it short and to the point.

Now short doesn’t have to be one sentence.

Write however many words you feel you need to express your point.

NO 7: I will not post pictures of my cat or dog in the middle of a cookie recipe post.

Being unique doesn’t mean this. Dot.

Now tell me, how many are you guilty of already? Feel free to comment your own blogger oath suggestions.
